8th Annual Broncorama
It was a bright sunny day on the 5th of May, great weather for the 8th Annual Broncorama. Temperatures were in the mid 60's and there was not a cloud in the sky. Add in a great bunch of Bronco enthusiasts and you had all the elements for a perfect day. Broncorama is a free, fun event for Ford enthusiasts started by jeff@broncograveyard.com. The event is a way to kick off the summer Bronco season. Broncorama is an event that consists of a show and shine as well as a swap meet, it is a great way to meet and share ideas with other Bronco owners.
We had a great turnout with approximately 400 to 500 people attending. Participants came from IA, IN, KY, MI, MN, WI, and Canada. There were a total of 110 Broncos and Ford trucks at the event. Some of the highlighted Broncos were Ted Nugent's black 1974 Bronco, and two Bill Stroppe BAJA Broncos. The most unique Bronco attending was Ron Ervin's Bronco that was made from cherry wood. Tim Hulick from Iowa coordinated a gathering of five 1966 Roadsters. This was the largest gathering of Roadsters yet and Tim is looking for more Roadsters for next years Broncorama. You can contact him at roadsterU13.com.
Jeff's Bronco Graveyard was also celebrating the new addition to the existing building. 13,000 sq ft. was added giving the building a total of close to 27,000 sq ft. Soon there is going to be a new Bronco Museum. It wasn't opened in time for this year's event but we hope to have it opened for Broncorama 2008. However the participants did have a chance to tour the new broncograveyard.com facility for a behind the scenes look at daily operations.
When you combine special Broncorama pricing on Bronco Graveyard's large selection of new products and a free swap meet, the product selection is endless. There were 35 participants at the swap meet with truckloads of parts. Together the swap meet and Bronco Graveyards scratch and dent sale offered many a bargain to be had.
Jim Allen from Off Road Adventure Magazine came to cover the event. He ended up using many of the Broncos for the photo shoot. Jim commented that Broncorama was one of the most fun and friendly one-day event that he has attended in his 30 years in the business. 8th time participant John Jarvis said that the show and swap meet was bigger and better than ever. He is looking forward to Broncorama 9.
We had some awesome sponsors this year including Bushwacker, Superlift, Crown, Tuffy and Yukon Axle. Without them this event would not have been such a great success. This show was the largest one yet and they keep getting bigger and better every year. Next years Broncorama 9 will be held on Saturday May 3, 2008 and we are hoping to see you there.
